Wie ich bereits in meinem letzten Beitrag gesagt habe, hat mich die Socken-Stricken-Sucht gepackt. Die Strickwolle Torbole von gründl hat mir damals optisch sehr gut gefallen, doch leider fand ich sie nicht ganz so weich, wie ich es mir erhofft hatte. Also ging ich zu meinem lokalen Wolle-Laden und lies micht beraten. Dieses Mal habe ich mich für die Wolle Alpaca Soxx von LANG YARNS (Nelke Mélange 1062.0065) für den Bund, die Käppchenferse und die Spitze und die About Berlin/Cashmere City von LANA GROSSA (875) für den Schaft und den Fuß entschieden. Die Kombination sieht wunderschön aus. Doch die Alpaca-Wolle war echt nicht einfach zu stricken. Zumindest dieses Mal.
As I said in my last post, I got hooked on knitting socks. At the time, I really liked the look of the Torbole knitting wool from Gründl, but unfortunately I didn’t find it quite as soft as I had hoped. So I went to my local wool shop and asked for advice. This time I decided to use Alpaca Soxx wool from LANG YARNS (carnation mélange 1062.0065) for the waistband, cap heel and toe, and About Berlin/Cashmere City from LANA GROSSA (875) for the shaft and foot. The combination looks beautiful. But the alpaca wool was really not easy to knit. At least this time.
Wie beim letzten Mal habe ich auch dieses Mal das Socken-Tutorial von @carolineswelt als Nachschlage-Werk verwendet. Das hat super funktioniert. Den einzigen Fehler, den ich gemacht habe, war, dass ich mich sehr nach dem Muster der About Berlin Wolle gerichtet habe. Ich wollte, dass der Socken optisch besonders schön wird. Leider finde ich aber, dass ich so die Socke sowohl am Schaft, als auch am Fuß einen Tick zu lange gemacht habe. Nicht viel. Vielleicht 0,5 cm. Aber aus Fehlern lernt man. Und deshalb werde ich das nächste Mal besonders darauf achten, die Socken-Tabelle einzuhalten. Und auch wenn mir die andersfarbige Käppchenferse optisch sehr gut gefällt, so habe ich das Gefühl, dass sich die Trageform der Socke etwas verändert hat. Ich denke, das nächste Mal werde ich die Ferse aus der gleichen Wolle machen, wie den Schaft und den Fuß. Aber insgesamt bin ich mit dem Ergebnis ganz zufrieden.
Like last time, I used @carolineswelt’s sock tutorial as a reference. That worked great. The only mistake I made was following the About Berlin yarn pattern very closely. I wanted the socks to be visually particularly beautiful. Unfortunately, I think that I made the socks a bit too long both on the shaft and on the foot. Not much. Maybe 0.5 cm. But you learn from mistakes. And that’s why next time I’ll be extra careful to stick to the sock chart. And even if I really like the look of the different colored cap heel, I have the feeling that the way the sock is worn has changed a bit. I think next time I’ll make the heel out of the same yarn as the shaft and the foot. But overall I’m quite happy with the result.
